A standout wrestler for the Lions in the early 1970’s, Gregzie White became Lincoln’s first individual national champion in 1971 when he won the NAIA nation title in the 158 pound weight class.  White competed three times in the NAIA National Tournament, finishing third in 1970 and leading the Lions to a #20 national ranking while winning the NAIA national championship in 1971.  As a senior in 1972 he was named the most Outstanding Wrestler in the Delaware Valley Conference before an injury prevented him from competing at the NAIA National Championships.  White was also a four year member of the men’s track and field team during his years at Lincoln. He is still the school’s current record holder for the pole vault, jumping 13’ 0” as a freshman in 1969.

Prior to Lincoln White was a three-year varsity wrestler and track and field star at Pennsville Memorial High School, graduating in 1968 after compiling a 54-4-4 varsity wrestling record and setting a school record for pole vault at 13’4”. In 1984 White was inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame and in 2014 he was inducted into the Salem County Sports Hall of Fame.
