A 13-time All-American and Lincoln’s first ever women’s track and field captain, Narissa Crosson was a four year competitor on the women’s cross country and both indoor and outdoor track and field teams from 1989-94.  Crosson-Gaines was a member of Lincoln’s 1993 Division III Indoor and Outdoor National Championship Teams and was the 800-meter indoor champion along with running the anchor leg on the outdoor 4 x 400 meter relay.  She also earned All-American honors in the 400, 800 and 1,600 meter runs multiple times in addition to her individual championships.
 
The 1993 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship team was the Lions first indoor title. Crosson-Gaines was Lincoln’s only individual winner on the team with her victory in the 800-meters with a time of 2:16.  She also was part of the Lions 4 x 400 meter relay team that placed second.  At the outdoor championships, Crosson-Gaines earned all-American honors with a second place finish in the 800-meters with a time of 2:12.67 while also earning All-American status with fourth place finishes in the 400 and 1600 meter runs and again reached the podium as part of the 4 x 400 meter relay team.
 
Crosson-Gaines was a member of Track Phi Track during her years at Lincoln as well as a member of the education Club.  She is currently a Head Start Teacher in the Harrisburg Area and is an assistant track and field coach at Susquehanna township High School where her teams have won three district championships. She is also active in the Harrisburg Area Lincoln University Alumni Association.
