MISSION STATEMENT
The Lincoln University Athletic Department is committed to an inclusive, diverse and safe culture built on the mental and physical welfare for all student-athletes, staff and fans. The mission will be achieved through ongoing education, programming, and initiatives within athletics, combined with campus partnerships, we ensure a strong commitment to celebrate diversity while always striving for inclusion.
With that stated mission in mind, the athletic department announces the following five-step plan:
- Establishment of the Lincoln University Athletics diversity and inclusion task force. PRIDE - Promoting Respect, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity - Task Force
- Enhancing departmental training and programming to include Title IX, cultural awareness and competency, and sensitivity training.
- Ensure all student-athletes and staff are registered to vote through the implementation of voter registration campaigns and Election Day partnerships.
- Promotion of community engagement initiatives and programming focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, student-athlete welfare and well-being, and social justice.
- Provide safe spaces for all student-athletes and staff.
TASK FORCE
The task force will be tasked with the following:
- Promoting an inclusive environment
- Identifying opportunities for educational and intercultural experiences for staff and student-athletes
- Spearheading diversity and inclusion programs, initiatives, and campaignsÂ
