Jordean Matthews was a tremendous all-around athlete as she was a standout in track & field, volleyball and softball.
Matthews was a two-time All-American in track & field, and claimed the 2006 National Championship as a member of the 4x400 relay team.Â
She became the first African American female in the then-54-year history of the ECAC-SIDA organization to be honored during its annual banquet when she earned the distinguished Bill Esposito Award for her work in sports information. She was also nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year.Â
