Barrington “Barry” Fearon was Lincoln’s first individual national champion in 1983. He was a two-time individual national champion in the 400-meter dash (1983 & 1985). He also captured the 1985 Indoor 400m national championship. Fearon held the school record in the 400m for more than 20 years. He was the captain of the track & field team from 1983-85 and anchored Lincoln’s first National Championship Team. Fearon, who was regarded as Lincoln’s greatest runner at the time of his graduation in 1986, achieved All-American honors 16 times in five NCAA Championship meets in four outdoor and one indoor in the 200m, 400m, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. Fearon also contributed financially to the Barry Fearon Fund, a fund that was available for track athletes at Lincoln University. He is an executive sales specialist in the pharmaceutical industry and a 1986 Lincoln University graduate with a degree in business administration.
