Today's installment  spotlights athletes who wore the numbers 43 and 44

A sure-fire future Lincoln Hall of Famer, Asha Atkinson was an all-around player from 2004-2008 and was the fifth women’s basketball player in program history at the time to reach the 1,000-point plateau when she reached the coveted plateau against Newport News Apprentice School on Feb. 2, 2008. To this day, Atkinson is the only women’s basketball player to rank in the Lions top ten all time in points (9th); rebounds (7th); assists (8th); blocked shots (5th) and steals (8th).  Atkinson helped lead the Lions to their first ever championship during the 2006-07 season winning the Association of DIII Independents (AD3I) tournament.  She reached double figures 53 times throughout her career and recorded 21 double-doubles including a career high 28 points and 14 rebounds against Wilkes in 2006.  She was named to the AD3I Second Team following the conclusion of the 2005-06 season an earned AD3I player of the Week honors twice in February 2006. In addition to her all-time top ten ranking in the five major statistical categories, Atkinson is also ranked in Lincoln’s all-time top ten in 15 additional categories, including a scoring average of 11.1 points per game (10th all time).

Curtis Yarbrough was a four year player in the early 1970’s who appeared in 84 games over his four seasons of play. As a freshman his Lions’ team won the Delaware Valley conference championship. The Lions won 56 games over Yarbrough’s four seasons.  He scored over 250 points in three of his four seasons with a career high 324 points in 1975-76.  Yarbrough made 420 field goals during his career to rank 8th on the Lions all-time list.  His 914 career points rank #20 on the Lions’ all-time list.

Anthony Spinner played in 17 games over two seasons as a member of the Lincoln football team.  As a senior in 2018, he appeared in seven games and recorded eight tackles while also blocking a kick.  Spinner finished his Lincoln career with 14 tackles (3.5 for loss) and fumble recovery and a blocked kick.

Leondre Davis was a wide receiver that played in 15 games from 2010-11.  Davis had his best season in 2011 recording 20 catches in eight games and gaining 248 yards.  He was also occasionally used on kick returns.  Career-wise, he averaged 1.7 receptions per game which ranks him among the Lion’s top 20 all-time in that regard.

Michael Adjei played four seasons from 2009-2012 as a linebacker.  He appeared in 27 games over his four seasons, recording 80 tackles for his career.  In 2009 he recorded 21 tackles in seven games and added eight more in eight games in 2010.  His best season was 2012 when he played in all ten games and recorded 48 total tackles..
