Spotlighting Lincoln Athletes by Jersey Number- #37-39

Continuing our series featuring our student athletes highlighted by their jersey number;  
Today's installment  spotlights athletes who wore the numbers
37, 38 and 39 (an all-football edition)

Elijah Bolden has appeared with Lincoln’s special teams and used on occasion as a running back the past two seasons.  He scored a touchdown in the Lions’ final game of 2019 via a six-yard touchdown run.  Bolden also had a tackle in the Livingstone game while on special teams.

Jodi Thomas appeared in 18 games over two seasons after transferring to Lincoln prior to the start of the 2015 campaign. Use mostly as a blocking fullback, Thomas had his best season in 2016, scoring a reception touchdown against Bowie State, while also recording a catch against Cheyney and producing a short run against Lincoln of Missouri.  He also had a tackle in his final game as a Lion against Chowan.

Ralph Oves was a two-way player for Coach Manny Rivero’s Lions from 1940-43 playing on both the defensive an offensive lines.  Oves joined the army following the completion of his senior season in the fall of 1943. Following his stint in the service, Oves returned to Lincoln and received his degree in 1947 while also serving as an assistant coach under Rivero.

Freshman Ahman Foster-Powell appeared in just two games in 2019 while producing 76 all-purpose yards rushing and receiving. The majority of his yardage came in thre Lions’ final game of the season against Chowan where he ran for 34 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for another 34 yards, including a 22-yard reception.  Foster-Powell’s touchdown came on a seven-yard run in the third quarter.
