Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) tossed a complete game for the Lions against the Vikings leading Lincoln to their second CIAA victory of the season in game one of a double header 2-1 on Sunday, April 6
th. Smith struck out five Vikings, gave up no walks, and surrendered one run at the mound. Elizabeth City State was held to only seven hits and held a 1-0 lead after the first inning.
In the third inning, freshman
DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) hit a fielder's choice RBI that scored
Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) to tie the contest at 1-1. Both teams battled back and forth until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Lions jumped ahead off of two hits.
Sophomore
Edwin Rivera (Bronx, N.Y./Gompers HS) led the inning off with a double to center field followed by a single to shortstop by freshman
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy). With runners on second and third base, infielder
Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) hit a sacrifice RBI fly ball to right field for the eventually game-winning run bringing home
Edwin Rivera (Bronx, N.Y./Gompers HS). Lincoln's defense stayed consistent in the top of the seventh inning giving up two hits but no runs and held on for a 2-1 victory.

Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) both scored runs.
DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) and
Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) both had RBIs and
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) had the Lions' only stolen base.
In the later game of the double header, the Lions suffered a 16-8 loss to the Vikings.
Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy) and
Edwin Rivera (Bronx, N.Y./Gompers HS) both had two RBIs to lead the Lions while
Latuan Boggerty (Dover, DE/Polytech HS),
Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy), and
Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) all had one RBI. Boggerty , Rivera, and Bolden all had two hits each and
Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) had the only double base hit for Lincoln in game two.
The Vikings scored two runs in the first inning, eight runs in the second inning, one run in the third inning, and five runs in the seventh inning. Lincoln trailed 11-0 before scoring their first run in the fourth inning.
The Lions exploded for six runs off of three hits and one error by the ECSU defense in the fifth inning and finished short with only one run in the sixth inning.

Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) struck out four batters in six innings. Relief pitcher
Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy) closed the game with one strike out in the seventh inning.
The Lions improve to 2-25 overall and a 2-13 CIAA conference record after their weekend series with the Vikings. Lincoln will host Virginia State University in their next game on Wednesday, April 9
th at 3 p.m.
