Freeman Named 2023 Offensive Player of the Year

Langley Earns Wide Receiver First-Team All-CIAA Honor

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA (November 10, 2023)- After having the best season in program history, the Lincoln University Lion football team has All-Conference honors to show for it as voted on by the CIAA Football Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association.

Sophomore quarterback Isaiah Freeman (Chester, Pa./STEM Academy High School) was named the 2023 CIAA Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-CIAA Quarterback, alongside sophomore wide receiver Malachi Langley (Chester, Pa./Chester High School) earning the First-Team All-CIAA honor.

This season, Freeman led the CIAA with a passing percentage of 57.3, alongside averaging 231.2 passing yards per game (2312 total), and tallied 25 passing touchdowns this season. His stellar season has earned him 7 consecutive CIAA Quarterback of the Week honors, a BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week honor and a spot on the Quarter Phi Back Awards watch list (the only CIAA player to make the list).

Langley led the CIAA with 1,042 yards on 46 receptions for 11 touchdowns. He also earned 4 CIAA Receiver of the Week honors.
