LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - Lincoln University football student-athletes, Kyrie Tyson (Elkton, MD/Elkton HS) and Sahaaj Bennett (Netcong, NJ/Malcolm X Shabazz HS) earned Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) weekly honors following their performances at Elizabeth City State on October 10. Tyson was named Wide Receiver of the Week for the fourth consecutive week, while Bennett earned Defensive Back of the Week honors.

Tyson, the Elkton, Maryland native led all receivers with 10 receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 14.7 yards per catch and accounting for 49 percent of Lincoln's 300 passing yards.

Both of Tyson's touchdowns came in the fourth quarter as the Lions mounted a late rally. He scored on a three-yard reception before adding a 47-yard touchdown catch. Tyson also hauled in the two-point conversion following his second score, helping Lincoln outscore Elizabeth City State 14–0 in the final period.

His fourth-quarter production also included receptions of 23 and 21 yards on another drive that carried the Lions to the Vikings' one-yard line.

Bennett, a Netcong, New Jersey native, anchored Lincoln's defensive effort with a game-high 10 tackles. He helped the Lions hold Elizabeth City State to just 28 passing yards, with the Vikings completing three of their 12 attempts.

Providing consistent support against the run, Bennett helped Lincoln keep Elizabeth City State scoreless throughout the fourth quarter, giving the Lions an opportunity to rally.

The two honors recognize standout contributions on both sides of the ball, with Tyson fueling Lincoln's passing attack and Bennett leading the defensive effort.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday, October 17 at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
