SERIES HISTORY
This marks the first meeting between the two teams.

HELLO OLD FRIEND
Despite the two teams meeting for the first time, there is some commonality between the two schools as Lincoln University Director of Athletics and Recreational Services Harry Stinson III came from Central State, where he served as the Associate Director of Athletics.

THE LAST GAME
The Lincoln University football team opened the 2021 season with a 20-0 loss to Lock Haven University in non-conference action at Red Raider Stadium.
The score wasn't indicative of the Lions' defense performance throughout the game. Lincoln surrendered just 215 yards defensively. Through three quarters, Lincoln allowed just four plays over 10 yards. LHU added three additional plays of at least 10 yards in the fourth quarter.
Lincoln finished with 153 yards of offense in the loss.

QUARTERBACK DERBY
Despite Isaiah Wilson (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) IV earning the start against Lock Haven, the quarterback position battle feels far from settled as the Norfolk State transfer was just 8-of-21 for 116 yards and an interception in his Lincoln debut.
Two other newcomers, Andrew Banks (Atlanta, Ga. /Mays), and Trae Greene (Willingboro, N.J. /Willingboro) could find a way to play this week against the Marauders.

SHARING THE LOAD
Even with four players on the two-deep, six running backs could get some carries for the Lions. In the season opener against Lock Haven, five different running backs had a carry for the Lions.
Sophomore Ahman Foster-Powell (Henrico, Va./Highland Springs) had a team-high eight attempts for 17 yards, while freshman Zaheer Seabrooks (Paterson, N.J. /Bethlehem Catholic) had a team-high 20 yards on seven carries. Sophomore Daniel Scott (Philadelphia, Pa. /Northeast), junior Samuel Bryant (Tucker, Ga. /Tucker), and freshman Charlie Burnett (Gettysburg, Pa. /Gettysburg) all had rushing attempts for the Orange and Blue.

FLYING AROUND
The Lincoln defensive backs were all over the place against Lock Haven. Junior Eric Best (Burlington, N.J. /Burlington) finished with eight tackles, while junior Kentrell Pierce (Calumet City, Ill./Harold Richards) had two of Lincoln's four pass break-ups.
Junior Roosevelt Jordan (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) added a red-zone interception in the first half.

ROCKING THE CREDLE
Junior receiver Michael Credle, Jr. (Bear, Del./Glasgow) will be looking to make a greater impact on the game. In his first game after transferring from Wesley College, the 6-1 Credle hauled in a team-high three passes for 30 yards.

MILITARY ACADEMIES
Lincoln's football roster has four new players that have spent time at Military Prep Schools. Quarterback Andrew Banks (Atlanta, Ga. /Mays) and defensive lineman Darius Sterling (South Chesterfield, Va./Thomas Dale) hail from Fork Union Military Academy, while offensive lineman Shawn Kemmerer (Columbia, Pa./Columbia) and receiver Shannon Squire (North Philadelphia, Pa. /Kensington Creative and Performing Arts) spent time at Valley Forge Military Academy.

SEEING DOUBLE
Two sets of twins will line up for the Lions this season in defensive linemen Evan and Elliot Chavous, and defensive backs Roosevelt and Samuel Bryant (Tucker, Ga. /Tucker).

WELCOME TO COATESVILLE
Due to construction delays, the first three Lincoln University football games will be moved to Coatesville Area High School. The next home game will be 1 p.m. September 11 against
Central State University.

FORMER TEAMMATES
Former Los Angeles-Pierce teammates, defensive back Eric Best (Burlington, N.J. /Burlington) (Lincoln) and receiver Brandon Brock (Central State) could each other on the gridiron. Best finished Lincoln's opener with a team-high eight tackles.

RIVALRY LOSS
Central State has had two weeks to prepare for Lincoln after getting an exemption to play in Week Zero. The Marauders fell to rival-Kentucky State, 20-6, in the inaugural Columbus Classic on August 28.
CSU surrendered 322 total yards, all on the ground, as the Thorobreds' option attack averaged 6.3 yards per carry.

ALL AMERICAN
Central State linebacker Kailen Abrams returns after being named the the Don Hansen All-American team in 2019. He led his conference with 10.5 tackles per game with two forced fumbles.
In the season opener, he finished with 13 tackles, one for loss, a forced fumble and an interception.
