LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University (Pa.) football team looks to build on its first victory of the season when it hosts Virginia State University in the Baldwin Richardson Foods Frederick Douglass HBCU Football Classic on Saturday, October 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Rochester Community Sports Complex in Rochester, New York.

Scouting Lincoln
The Lions enter the CIAA matchup at 1–3 overall and 1–1 in conference play following a 20–7 victory over Bluefield State. Lincoln scored on its opening possession and held the Big Blue scoreless throughout the second half to secure the win.
Kyrie Tyson (Elkton, MD/Elkton HS) led the passing attack with eight receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown, earning CIAA Receiver of the Week honors for the second consecutive week. His 62-yard touchdown reception from
Jayden Triplett (Elkton, MD/Elkton HS) helped the Lions establish an early 13–0 lead.
Triplett completed 10-of-13 passes for 166 yards and added a team-high 50 rushing yards.
Lorenzo Robinson (White Plains, NY) and
Dexter Baptistin (Montreal, CA/Dalbe-Viau) each scored rushing touchdowns. Defensively,
Charles Thompson (Chester, PA/Stem Academy) recorded 11 tackles, including three for loss, while
Zion Knox (Philadelphia, PA) added nine tackles.
Scouting Virginia State
Virginia State arrives in Rochester at 4–1 after defeating Winston-Salem State, 49–19, on September 26. The Trojans have won their last two games, including a 28–14 victory at Elizabeth City State.

Saturday's game caps the Classic's Weekend of Hope, which celebrates HBCU education, culture and community. Game-day activities include a morning tailgate and a postgame Battle of the Bands featuring Lincoln's Orange Crush Roaring Lions Marching Band and Virginia State's Trojan Explosion Marching Band.
