Lincoln University women's basketball player Kwanza Murray (Summerville, S.C./Summerville (Lackawanna College)) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) women's basketball player of the Week for her performance in the Lions three games last week.

Murray poured in a career-high 41 points with a school-record eight three-pointers in a 85-69 win over Shippensburg. The Summerville, South Carolina native averaged an impressive 33 points, three steals, including a game-high six steals against conference-foe Johnson C. Smith, three rebounds, and two assists in three games, while shooting 66% from the field, 56% from three, and 80% from the free throw line. In addition to the three-point field goal record, the 5-7 senior guard broke or tied three additional school records, including most points in a Lincoln division II-era game (41), most field goals in a game (15), and three-point percentage in a single game (80 percent).

Opening the week against West Chester University, Murray scored 24 points on 9-16 shooting with two rebounds an assist and a block.   Two days later Murray recorded her record-setting performance for the ages against the Raiders of Shippensburg.  The senior guard made 15 of 20 shots from the field and eight of ten from three point range and was a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line. 

Murray closed out the week with a 34-point explosion against conference foe, Johnson C. Smith, netting 17 of those in the final 6:58 of the game.  She shot 13 of 20 from the field and 3-for-6 from three-point range.  Again Murray was perfect from the free throw line making all five of her attempts, extending her consecutive free throws made streak to 11.

Murray and the Lions finished with a 3-0 record for the week.
