Richmond, VA – February 11, 2026 – The Lincoln University women's basketball team dropped a CIAA road contest Wednesday evening, falling to Virginia Union, 86–49, inside Barco-Stevens Hall.
Lincoln (3-21, 0-13 CIAA) was led by Kaziah Akinniyi (Baltimore, Md./Poly), who finished with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, knocking down two three-pointers and adding four rebounds. Off the bench, Demaris Andrews (Bayonne, NJ/Hudson Catholic) provided a spark with 12 points, shooting 3-of-5 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Alaila Walker (Kalamazoo, Mich./Central) added eight points, including two three-pointers, while Hunter Conway (Detroit, MI/Belleville HS) chipped in five points and two rebounds. Riley Holliday (Baltimore, MD/) controlled the glass with a team-high 10 rebounds.
Lincoln shot 30.0 percent (15-of-50) from the field and 33.3 percent (7-of-21) from three. The Lions remained competitive early, trailing 16–13 after the first quarter, but Virginia Union used a strong third quarter (26 points) to create separation. The Panthers held a 48–38 rebounding advantage and scored 19 second-chance points in the win.
Virginia Union (14-7, 8-5 CIAA) was paced by Bruni Martinez's 17 points and 14 rebounds.
