Richmond, Va. - The Lincoln University men's basketball team seeks their first CIAA road win of the season and second consecutive victory as they face Virginia Union University in Richmond on Saturday afternoon.
The Series:
Since the series between Virginia Union and Lincoln resumed in the 2007-08 season, the Panthers have dominated, holding an 18-4 edge in 22 games played. VUU has won the last six meetings between the two teams. The Lions last win against the Panthers came during the 2014-15 season. LU's only win at Barco-Stevens was during the 2013-14 season.

Lincoln University enters Saturday's game with an 12-8 overall record and a 5-4 record in CIAA games. Lincoln is also 1-1 in CIAA North Division contests.

Tamir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) leads the team with 78 assists while averaging 7.7 points per game. He leads the team with 25 steals.
Jordan Camper (Chester, Pa./Chester) is averaging 6.9 points per game and has a team-high 20 blocks on the season.
Bernard Lightsey (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) is second on the team with 29 three-point field goals and a 37.7% average from beyond the arc. He is averaging 7.1 points per game and is third on the team with 28 assists.

Williams led all scorers with 21 points and 15 rebounds to notch his league leading ninth double-double of the season. His nine double-doubles ranks him tenth
amongst all NCAA division II players.

Green Becomes Third Lion to Earn CIAA Rookie of the Week Honors

Tamir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for his performance during the week ending January 20, 2019.
Green becomes the third Lions player to earn CIAA Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) (Jan.6) and Bernard
Lightsey (Nov. 25).
In the Lions two games last week, Green came off the bench to score 34 points and dish out 14 assists, while recording six steals and grabbing eight rebounds.Green poured in a career-high 25 points in LU's loss at Bowie State on Saturday while dishing out six assists and recording three steals. He had nine points, eight assists and three steals in the Lions loss at Shaw.
For the week, Green averaged 17 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals per game
Blue Named CIAA Rookie of the Week

Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for his performance during the week ending January 6, 2019.
In the Lions game against Shepherd on Saturday, Blue led the team with a career-high of 17 points as Lincoln won its eighth consecutive game, defeating the Rams, 80-59. Blue shot 4-7 from the field, including a 2-3 performance from three-point range. He was also 7-8 from the free throw line.
The freshman swing player also notched 12 points in Lincoln's 77-75 exhibition game win over Morgan State University on Thursday.
Lincoln Earns First Ever D2SIDA Regional Ranking
The Lincoln University Men's Basketball team is off to their best start since the 2013-14 season and has entered the D2SIDA Atlantic Region Media Poll for the first time in program history. The Lions are ranked eighth in this week's poll following their big win over Shepherd University on Saturday and an exhibition game win at Division I Morgan State University on Thursday.
The Lions are currently 11-4 overall and 4-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) games. Lincoln has won eight straight games following their last loss on December 1, 2018 and are one of just three teams in the region with 11 or more wins joining top-ranked Indiana (Pa.) (13 -0) and #5 Shippensburg (12-3).

Scouting the Panthers
Virginia Union is 10-8 overall and 6-2 in CIAA games (1-1 CIAA North) The Panthers have won five of their last six games, with their only loss coming at the hands of Virginia State university last Saturday.
Terrell Leach has played in seven games for the Panthgers and is averaging 19.6 points per game. He has scored 30 or more points in two of those seven contests and has 22 threes.
William Jenkins is averaging 15.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He leads the team shooting 53.6% from the field and is also the top shot blocker with 20.
Demarius Pitts is the third Panther averaging double figures, scoring at a clip of 14.3 points per game. He has 21 three point field goals.
Jemal Smith leads the team with 100 assists, averaging 5.9 per game. He is also averaging 6.8 points per game.

Terrell Leach scored 30 points as the Panthers defeated Bowie State University 75-72 on Wednesday, January 23, in Bowie, Md.
The game marked the second time this month that Leach has scored 30 or more points for VUU. He scored 31 points against Shaw University on January 10.
VUU junior Will Jenkins also had a stellar performance. Jenkins scored 25 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in the win.
Eric Bowles dished out a team-high eight assists in the win.
