The Lincoln University men's basketball team will open their regular season on Saturday, November 10, 2018 when they play Lock Haven University at the Wolf Bus Lines Classic. The tournament is hosted by Shippensburg University. The Lions will play host Shippensburg on Sunday in the second game of the Tournament.

About the Lions:
Lincoln University enters the 2018-19 campaign after a 12-win season. The Lions lost its 2018 CIAA Tournament opener to Fayetteville State by seven points.
The Lions return eight players from last season, including its leading scorer, senior
Gevon Arrington (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg (Richard Bland)). The Petersburg, Va. native was one of two Lions to start all 27 games last season, averaging 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 80 percent (101-of-126) at the free-throw line.

Doug Overton's squad also returns two All-CIAA Rookie Team selections in sophomores
Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) and
Jordan Camper (Chester, Pa./Chester). Williams started 23 games, averaging 8.6 points per game while leading the Lions with 7.5 rebounds per game and 22 blocked shots. Camper averaged 6.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Another player to watch is junior
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) who started 15 games last season. Campbell averaged 8.3 points per game and 2.2 assists per game.
The Lions were picked to finish 12th in the CIAA preseason poll (sixth in the CIAA North Division).
Scouting Lock Haven:
Lock Haven enters the 2018-19 season after winning eight games a season ago and finishing seventh in the PSAC Eastern Division.
Long-time SU assistant Mike Nestor is in his eighth season at the helm of the Bald Eagles and is once again assisted by fellow Raider alumnus Brian Oleksiak. The Bald Eagles have four returning players and eight newcomers on this year's squad.
Sophomore Matt Cerruti is the team's leading returning scorer. Cerruti averaged 10.9 points per game last season and knocked down a team-high 37 three-pointers He was also an 87-percent free-throw shooter.
Returning junior Jihad Barnes is a key veteran who started 24 of Lock Haven's 25 games last season. Barnes averaged 6.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
Among the players the Bald Eagles are looking to replace include a trio of key starters: Amir Hinton, Ra'eese Hunt and Tarojae Brake.
The Bald Eagles were voted seventh in the PSAC Eastern Division preseason coaches' poll.
Scouting Shippensburg:
The Raiders enter the 2018-19 campaign coming off a 25-win season in which it played in the NCAA Atlantic Region Championship game, and reached the NCAA "Sweet 16" by defeating West Liberty before dispatching the region's top seed in Virginia State on its home floor.
Head coach Chris Fite returns two starters: senior Antonio Kellem and junior John Castello. Both men have been an integral part in SU's success the past two seasons. Castello averaged 11.8 points per game and 7.9 rebounds in 33 games last season while Kellem averaged 11.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Another key returner is senior Manny Span who totaled 16 points and 15 rebounds in three NCAA Tournament games last season.
The Raiders will need to make up for the loss of three key seniors, including All-American forward Dustin Sleva, three-point maven Justin McCarthur and point guard Clay Conner. The trio combined for 4,332 points, 1,534 rebounds, 953 assists and 574 three-pointers in their career.
