The Lincoln University men's basketball team returns home to Manuel Rivero Hall for another contest against a Central Atlantic collegiate conference opponent – Holy Family University. The game will be the Lions third home game of the season.
The Series:
Saturday's game will be the 15th meeting between the two teams. Holy Family leads the all-time series 9-5. The first meeting took place during the 1995-96 season, an 86-83 win by the Lions. The two teams last met on December 13, 2011 in Philadelphia where the Tigers earned a 77-71 win. Holy Family has won the last two meetings.
About the Lions:
Lincoln University enters Saturday's game with a 4-3 record after disposing of Cheyney University 93-52 Thursday night at Cheyney's Cope Hall.
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian) currently leads the Lions averaging 12.9 points per game.
Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) is averaging 12.3 points per game and is second on the team in rebounding pulling down an average of 8.6 per game.
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) has recorded three-double-doubles on the season and is averaging 11.1 points and a team-best 8.7 rebounds per game. He also leads the team with 12 steals. Blue and

Last Time Out
The Lincoln University men's basketball team continued their dominance over Cheyney University in their annual "Battle of the First" contests defeating the Wolves 93-52 at Cope Hall in Cheyney, Pennsylvania.
The Lions have now won the last eight contests against the Wolves, dating back to the 2011-12 season. Cheyney's last win in the series came on November 26, 2010 when the Wolves defeated the Lions 68-38 at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia.
Five players scored in double figures for the Lions led by
Maurice Waters' (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution (Univ. District of Columbia)) 15 points. (6-8 FG).
Tamir Green (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) added 12 points, which included a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line while
Gevon Arrington (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg (Richard Bland)) chipped in 11 (5-6 FG) and had five rebounds.
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) and
Bernard Lightsey (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) finished the game with ten points apiece. Blue also had five rebounds. Green and Arrington had four and three steals respectively while Arrington led the team with three assists.
Rookie of the Week Honors
Freshman
Bernard Lightsey (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) was named the CIAA Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for his performance during Lincoln's two games last week, a win over nationally ranked Kutztown and a loss to Seton Hill. Lightsey scored a career-high 25 points in the win over Kutztown and added 21 against Seton Hill to finish the week averaging 23.0 points per game.
Seeing Double
Williams and Blue have each recorded multiple double-doubles on the season. Blue notched his third of the season Tuesday night against USciences with 12 points and 11 rebounds. He also had 16 points and 10 rebounds vs. Kutztown and a 14-point, 12-rebound effort at Shippensburg. Williams had 15 points and 17 rebounds at Millersville and turned in a 26-point, 10-rebuond effort against Seton Hill. The pair are the only two players in the CIAA that have multiple double-doubles so far this season.
Home Opener
Campbell's three point shot at the buzzer was the difference in the double overtime win over nationally ranked Kutztown. Campbell was one of five Lions to reach double figure scoring in the game.
Bernard Lightsey (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter), in his first collegiate start, knocked down ten field goals (three three's) en route to a career-high 25 points. Campbell added 19 while
Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) recorded another double-double with 16 points and ten boards.
Maurice Waters (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution (Univ. District of Columbia)) (13 points) and
Jordan Camper (Chester, Pa./Chester) (11 points) rounded out the double figure scorers for Lincoln.
The Lions rallied from 12 points down with 2:48 left in regulation to tie the game and send it to overtime. The two teams remained tied after one overtime and in the second extra stanza appeared ready to go to a third after KU tied the game with 4.3 seconds left at 91-91. Campbell put that all to rest, sinking a long three-ball from the right side as the buzzer sounded.
A Division II program best:
Williams recorded a double-double in the Lions loss to Millersville with 15 points and 17 rebounds. His 17 rebounds are the most by a Lincoln player in the school's NCAA Division II era (2010- present). The most rebounds a single game throughout the history of the program was 31 set by George Turner in 1965 against Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (now known as USciences)
Lions Split first two games at tipoff tournament
The Lions won their opening game of the season 75-65 over Lock Haven University at the Wolf Bus Lines Classic at Shippensburg University. Lincoln jumped out to a nine point lead at the half, 41-32 and never looked back. Ten different players scored for the Lions with Williams the lone Lincoln player to reach double figures, scoring 22 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds.
Three players reached double figures in the Lions' second game of the tourney, a 79-69 loss to host Shippensburg. Blue recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. Williams also had 14 points while Campbell added 12. Williams and Campbell were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Scouting the Tigers
The Tigers are 2-2 on the season, earning wins against American International college (AIC) and Bloomsburg while dropping games to Merrimack and most recently West Chester University.
Patrick Robinson leads the team, averaging 19.5 points per game. Joining him in double figure is Vincenzo Dalessandro (13.5 ppg.) and Dymir Montague (13.3 ppg.). Dalessandro leads the team in rebounding, pulling down an average of 9.5 per game.
Kharon Randolph leads the team with 19 assists while Terrell Jones has nine steals.
As a team, the Tigers are averaging 70.5 points per game while giving up 74.5 points per game. Holy Family is shooting 41.4% from the field, 32.3% from three point range and 59.2% from the free throw line through their first four games.
Tigers' Last Game
The Holy Family University men's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to visiting West Chester University by the score of 85-75 on Tuesday night inside the Campus Center Gymnasium.
Patrick Robinson led the Tigers with 28 points while Vincenzo Dallessandro recorded his second double-double of the season after scoring a season-high 17 points to go along with 10 boards.
Kharon Randolph finished with a season-high 19 points and led the game with a season-high seven assists.
Conference Honor Roll
Dymir Montague was selected to the CACC Men's Basketball honor roll for his performance for the week ending November 25, 2018.
Montague helped lead the Tigers to an 82-71 victory over visiting Bloomsburg University in the team's lone game of the week last week. He filled the stat sheet with 18 points to go along with a season-high nine rebounds and a season-best seven assists. Montague also blocked a shot and recorded a steal on the defensive side of the ball.
