Lincoln made a defensive stop and the Lions made good use of the shot clock on their next possession with several passes made before Arrington found Markland open behind the arc for a go-ahead three-pointer, giving the Lions their first lead of the game at 61-58. Markland followed with a steal and breakaway layup to push the lead to five at 63-58. Millersville got two back on two separate trips to the charity stripe to make it a one possession game with a minute to go.Â
Cameron Campbell (Fayetteville, N.C./Trinity Christian ) made the second of two free throws to make the score 64-60 before an Adkison layup cut the lead two at 64-62 with 32 seconds left. Campbell added two more from the line to push the lead back to four before MU's Jordan Greene cut the margin to one, 66-65 with a traditional three-point play with 18 seconds left. On Lincoln's next possession Markland missed the front end of a one-and-one, giving the Marauders a chance to retake the lead but MU's James Sullivan stepped on the sideline for a Marauder turnover and Arrington sank two free throws with six seconds left to provide the final margin. Greene's three-point attempt as time was expiring was off the mark and the Lions held on for the comeback win.
