Men's Hoops Continues Early Season Road Trip Tuesday at USciences

Lincoln (1-2) looks for their second win in a row on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at USciences (2-1, 1-0) after playing their first four games of the season away from home. The Lions picked up their first victory of the season against Chestnut Hill led by Charles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston)'s career-high 20 points and two late free throws by Vernon Young (Chicago, IL/University of St. Mary).  The Lions marked season-best performances with 81 total points scored, 46 total rebounds, 23 free throws made, and eight made three pointers against the Griffins.

LAST TIME OUT
Junior forward Vernon Young (Chicago, IL/University of St. Mary)'s pair of made free throws with 12-seconds left in regulation earned the Lions an 81-80 road win at Chestnut Hill. Lincoln trailed Chestnut Hill by 13 in the second half but came from behind for their first victory of the season. Charles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston) finished with a season-high 20 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Cooley made all six of his free throws, went 6-for-9 from the field, and made 2-of-3 from three point range. Vernon Young (Chicago, IL/University of St. Mary) scored a season-high 16 points and went 6-for-7 from the free throw line including the pair of game winning free throws with 12 seconds left in regulation.
 
ABOUT USCIENCES
USciences (2-1, 1-0) are guided by 16th season Head Coach David Pauley. The Devils opened up CACC play with a 60-55 win at Philadelphia last Wednesday. Three Devils are currently averaging double figure scoring led by Sho Da-Silva (16.7). Will Gregorits (13.3) and Wes Kerr (12.0) are also averaging double figures and Gregorits leads the team in rebounds averaging 7.3 per game.

ALL-TIME SERIES
Lincoln  leads the all-time series on the hardwood against USciences by a 4-2 margin. The series began in the 2007-08 season and the last time Lincoln faced USciences (11/18/14)  the Lions loss at home, 60-52 . The Lions committed nine costly turnovers in last year's meeting that led to 13 points for the Devils' offense. The Lions were outscored 31-25 in the second half.
 
LIONS RANKING AMONGST THE CIAA
After three games to start the season the Lions are ranked third in steals per game (8.3), offensive rebounds per game (14.3), and rebound margin (+5.3). They rank fourth in 3Pts percentage (38.8) and in free throws made per game (17.7). Individually, senior guard Charles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston) leads the CIAA in free throw percentage (100.0) and is fourth in assist to turnover ratio (2.6). Sophomore guard Quaman Burton (Richmond, VA/John Marshall HS) is sixth in 3Pt percentage (50.0) and seventh in 3Pters (7-14). Junior guard Malachi Seney (Philadephia, PA/Harfprd Community College) is sixth in 3Pt Percentage (50.0). Junior forward Vernon Young (Chicago, IL/University of St. Mary) ranks eighth in offensive rebounds (10) and ninth in steals (6)
 
PAIR SHOOTS PERFECT FROM CHARITY STRIPE AT CHESTNUT HILL
Lincoln made a season-high 23 free throws in Friday's victory at Chestnut Hill, two Lions went 6-for-6 at the free throw line. Charles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston) and Umar Saaba (Philadephia, PA/Boys Latin HS) both finished 100% leading the Lions to a 72% shooting from the line night. Cooley has made all ten of his attempts from the line this season and Saaba is currently 9-of-11 at the line.
 
COOLEY DROPS 20 POINTS IN LIONS FIRST WIN OF SEASON
Senior guard Charles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston) scored a season-high 20 points on 6-of-9 made field goals and 2-of-3 made three pointers. Cooley also grabbed a season-best eight rebounds leading the Lions and dished out four assists in 25 minutes played.
 
WHAT'S ON DECK
Lincoln will finally open at home in Manuel Rivero Hall against Bloomsburg on Saturday, November 28th at 4 p.m. The Lions and Huskies are tied in the all-time series at 1-1 with Bloomsburg winning their last meeting in double overtime on Nov. 16, 2013 (89-79).
