Box Score 2 PHILADELPHIA, PA – Philadelphia picked up two wins over Lincoln in a double header on Sunday, March 16
th.
Lincoln scored two late runs in a 14-2 loss against Philadelphia in game one. Pitcher
Terence Berry, Jr. (Dover, NJ/Dover HS) began the game for the Lions and tossed two strikeouts in five innings. The Rams scored three earned runs on Berry and drew one walk.
William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) threw in relief for two innings allowing one earned run while
Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) finished the game at pitcher.
Philadelphia scored 14 runs off of 12 hits and six errors by the Lions defense. The Rams scored three runs in the third inning, five runs in the fourth inning, one run in both the fifth and sixth, and sealed the victory with four runs in the eighth inning.
In the eighth inning, two defensive errors led to a
Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) run scored for the Lions. Bolden reached base on a throwing error then scored on a second throwing error. In the next inning
William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) led off with a walk and then went on to steal second base. After advancing to third on a ground out, Hodges scored on a wild pitch for the Lions second run of the game.
DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) and
Martin Evans (Willingboro, N.J./Church Farm HS) each had two hits against Philadelphia. Parker and Evans also stole two bases a piece and
William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) recorded the other hit for the Lions.
In game two, Lincoln struggled defensively early surrendering ten runs in the first inning. The Lions rallied for three hits in the third inning that led to their first run scored by
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy). Santiago began the inning with a single through the left side, then
Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS) singled to left field, and
Martin Evans (Willingboro, N.J./Church Farm HS) bunted and loaded the bases full of Lions.
Philadelphia walked
Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy) on a bases loaded pitch and brought in
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy). Both teams failed to add any runs after the third inning and Philadelphia won 10-1.
Pitcher
Doug Cook (Dania Beach, FL/University School of Nova SE University) took the mound in relief of Robinson during the first inning for the Lions and gave up only two hits in four innings.
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) finished the game and walked one batter in his time of action.

The Lions fall to 1-13 overall and will travel to Philadelphia, PA to Chestnut Hill College for a double header on March 18
th at 3pm.
