LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University baseball team earned a doubleheader sweep over Georgian Court on Sunday afternoon at the LU Baseball Complex.
Game 1: Lincoln 10, Georgian Court 3
Lincoln used a late offensive surge to pull away, scoring eight runs in the seventh inning to secure a 10-3 victory.
Aaron Graves II (Upper Marlboro, MD/Riverdale Baptist) led the Lions at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, including a two-run triple during the decisive inning. Jaden Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) added two hits and an RBI, while Isaiah Tinsley-Cobbs contributed an RBI double.
On the mound, Ethan Craig (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape HS) was dominant, striking out 10 over six innings while allowing just one hit. Frederick Perry (Houston, TX) earned the win in relief, tossing three scoreless innings to close out the game.
Game 2: Lincoln 3, Georgian Court 2
Lincoln completed the sweep with a tightly contested 3-2 victory in game two.
The Lions struck first in the opening inning on an RBI groundout from Kenneth Gaskins, and later tied the game in the fourth on an RBI single by Marcellus Brown (Washington, DC/Riverdale Baptist).
In the seventh inning, Lincoln capitalized on scoring opportunities as Aaron Graves II (Upper Marlboro, MD/Riverdale Baptist) drew a walk with the bases loaded to bring home the game-winning run.
Pedro Santos (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) earned the win in relief, tossing a scoreless inning. Solomon McKinney (Washington, D.C.) started on the mound and struck out eight over six innings in a strong outing.
