Kruemmer was honored before the game at home plate with his teammates around him in a small ceremony. Following the ending of the second game, Lincoln first year head coach Anthony Pla hugged all of his players and thanked them for their effort. Although, Lincoln endured plenty of tough afternoons, the Lions did triple their win total from 2008, showed plenty of improvement and received numerous compliments from umpires and opposing squads during the season.
Lincoln pounded out a season-high 16 hits in the opening game. Six players finished with at least two hits. Melvin Robinson (Bear, DE/William Penn), who continued his torrid hitting stretch, and Kyle Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Seton Hill HS) finished with three hits each. One of Robinson's hits was his sixth home run and third in as many games. Webster, Kruemmer, Percy Bullock (Pittsburgh, PA/Susquehanna) and Omar Ongay (Wilmington, DE/Glasgow) had two hits each for Lincoln. Webster and Robinson crossed the plate three times each.

Robinson finished a triple short of hitting for the cycle in the first game. He had a hit in 19 of the Lions' 31 games this season.
For Brooks, it was his first time in his career he had three hits in a single game. Ongay struck out eight batters in the first game.
Other than Kruemmer's two hits in the second game, Webster and Aaron Thomas (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area) had hits for the Lions. Brooks and Robinson, who walked three times in the game, scored two runs each.
