Lions Drop Doubleheader to Wilmington in CACC Play

NEW CASTLE, DE – April 8, 2026 – The Lincoln University (PA) baseball team fell to Wilmington University, 16-3 and 6-5, in a CACC doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.

Game 1 – Wilmington (Del.) 16, Lincoln (PA) 3

Wilmington jumped out early and never looked back in a 16-3 victory in game one.

The Wildcats scored three runs in the first inning and added two more in the second before breaking the game open with a five-run third and four-run fourth inning to take full control.

Lincoln got on the board in the fifth inning on a solo home run from Jaden Greenidge (Richmond, Va./Monacan) and added two runs in the seventh behind RBIs from Sean Stoney (Rosedale, NY/Archbishop Molloy HS) and Frederick Perry (Houston, TX).

Aaron Graves II (Upper Marlboro, MD/Riverdale Baptist) and Perry each recorded two hits to lead the Lions offensively.

Game 2 – Wilmington (Del.) 6, Lincoln (PA) 5

Lincoln battled back in game two but came up just short in a 6-5 loss.

The Lions struck first with a solo home run from Solomon Devard (Bear, Del./MOT Charter) in the second inning and later took a 5-3 lead in the fourth after a three-RBI triple from Sean Stoney (Rosedale, NY/Archbishop Molloy HS).

Wilmington answered with runs in the fourth to tie the game before taking the lead for good in the seventh on a wild pitch.

Stoney led the Lions with three RBIs, while Devard added a home run and two runs scored.

The Lions continue CACC action on Saturday, April 11, traveling to face Jefferson in a doubleheader in Philadelphia, PA. First pitch is set for 12:00 p.m., followed by game two at 2:00 p.m.
