East Stroudsburg defeats Lincoln

EAST STROUDSBURG, PA (April 15, 2009) – Despite having at least one runner on base in six of the seven innings, the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball team dropped a 13-0 decision to East Stroudsburg University Wednesday afternoon at Mitterling Field. (BOXSCORE)

Omar Glinton (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Augustine's) opened the game with a single and stolen base for the Lions. Kyle Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Seton Hill HS) paced the Lincoln attack with two hits. Melvin Robinson (Bear, DE/William Penn) also had a hit for the Lions to raise his team leading batting average to .359. Also reaching base for Lincoln was Joe Kruemmer (Middletown, DE/Hodgson Vo-Tech) and Absalom Lopez (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln), both of whom were hit by a pitch. Musashi Ellis (Queens, NY/North High) and Percy Bullock (Pittsburgh, PA/Susquehanna) reached on walks. Overall, Lincoln left 10 men on base.

The game was originally supposed to be played at Lincoln on Tuesday April 14, but a rainout forced the teams to switch locations. While it consistently rained at Lincoln, both teams played under sunny and warm skies on the scenic campus nestled in the Pocono Mountains.

Lincoln returns to action Thursday afternoon when it hosts Penn State-Brandywine in a scheduled nine-inning game beginning at 3:00 p.m.
