RALEIGH, N.C. (March 7, 2009) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball team began its North Carolina-swing by dropping a pair of games to host Shaw University, 15-0 and 18-2 Saturday afternoon. (BOXSCORE TO BE POSTED LATER)
Kyle Brooks (Baltimore, MD, Seton Hill) paced the Lincoln offensive attack by going 4-for-5 over the two games and Melvin Robinson (Bear, DE, William Penn) provided support by delivering a 3-for-6 effort during the doubleheader. Robinson scored on a Brooks sacrifice fly and Joe Kruemmer (Middletown, DE, Hodgson Vo-Tech) crossed the plate on an Absalom Lopez (Jersey City, NJ, Lincoln) ground out to first.
Lincoln and Shaw will meet again in Pennsylvania on Sunday April 5. Lincoln finishes its quick trip by playing Saint Augustine's Sunday afternoon at the USA Baseball Training Complex in nearby Cary.
