MURFRESBORO, N.C. — The Lincoln University women's basketball team dropped its third straight contest, falling to Chowan University, 81-57 Monday night as the Hawks got a lead early and maintained that momentum throughout the ballgame.

The Lady Lions could not recover from a 47-26 halftime deficit, although in the second half, they did play markedly better basketball

Sharay DuBose (Salisbury, MD, Parkside) and Danielle Smallwood (Philadelphia, PA, West Catholic) led Lincoln with 10 points. Smallwood was two boards shy of a second-consecutive double-double. She also showed tied senior point guard Chanelle Harris (Philadelphia, PA, Penn Wood) for the team lead in assists with two.
