PETERSBURG, VA. – Lincoln (PA) women's volleyball battled hard but came up short in a CIAA match up against Virginia State, dropping a 3–0 decision (25–9, 25–9, 25–11) on Monday evening.
Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) led the Lions with six kills, while Khalia Jabbie (Portland ,OR) added three kills and a pair of blocks. Freshman Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA) anchored the defense with a team-high 12 digs, and Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD) chipped in 11 assists.
Despite the final score, Lincoln showed fight in each set, highlighted by strong defensive stretches and timely kills to keep momentum alive.
The Lions (0–11, 0–2 CIAA) will look to regroup as they head to the CIAA Volleyball Roundup this weekend, opening play against Livingstone College on Friday, October 3, in Fayetteville, N.C.
