11/1/2026 4:00:00 PM

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — The Lincoln University volleyball team closes its regular-season schedule with two home CIAA matches, hosting Bowie State on Monday, November 2, for Senior Night before welcoming Shaw on Thursday, November 5. Both matches begin at 6 p.m. inside Oxford High School.

Monday's match will celebrate Lincoln's seniors and their contributions to the program, giving fans an opportunity to recognize their dedication while supporting the Lions during the final week of the regular season.

Celebrating the Seniors
Senior middle hitter Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) and senior setter Charly Manley (Upper Marlboro, MD/Frederick Douglass HS) will take center stage during the Senior Night celebration against Bowie State. Carter, a Smyrna, Delaware, native, provides an experienced presence at the net, while Manley, from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, directs Lincoln's offense from the setter position.

Both seniors enter the week following productive performances against Virginia State. Carter recorded six kills and hit .333, while Manley distributed 25 assists and added four digs.

Last Time Out
Lincoln fell to Virginia State in three sets Saturday, October 31, but challenged the Trojans throughout the match, including a closely contested 25–23 third set.

Amira Billingsley (Glen Burnie, MD/) paced the Lions with nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage, four service aces and two blocks. Yvette Mercedes (Columbia, MD/) added eight kills while hitting .412. Niana Coar (Aberdeen, MD/) led the back row with eight digs, followed by Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA/) with six and Jhordynn Rowson (Virginia Beach , VA/) with five.

The Lions finished with 31 kills and a .214 hitting percentage and will look to build on that offensive efficiency during their final two home matches.

Scouting Bowie State
Bowie State returns to face Lincoln after winning the teams' October 27 meeting in three sets. The Bulldogs most recently dropped a five-set decision to Shaw on October 29.

Payton Swinton and Abena Asomani-Martin each recorded 10 kills against Shaw, while Gabrielle Hale handed out 28 assists. The Bulldogs also totaled 11 blocks, presenting a challenge for Lincoln's hitters.

Scouting Shaw
Shaw brings momentum from its five-set road victory over Bowie State. Leana Gould led the Lady Bears with 17 kills, followed by Kamaria Sanders with 14 and Taelin Connolley with 12. Setter Justus Alexander finished with 45 assists and 14 digs.

Shaw totaled 62 kills and 13 service aces in that victory. Lincoln's serve receive and ability to sustain rallies will be key against the Lady Bears' attack.

Fans are encouraged to fill Oxford High School on Monday to celebrate the senior class and return Thursday to support the Lions in their regular-season finale.
