FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – October 4, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) women's volleyball team wrapped up play at the CIAA Volleyball Round-Up #1 this weekend, competing in back-to-back matches against Livingstone College and Fayetteville State University at Felton J. Capel Arena.
Livingstone 3, Lincoln 0 – Match Recap
Lincoln opened the weekend on Friday with a determined effort against Livingstone, highlighted by Elise Carter's (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) seven kills and Ashley Fru's (Brandywine, MD) 12 assists. Donavyn Morris (Chester, PA) added three service aces and a team-high 18 digs, while Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) contributed three kills and a solo block. Despite falling 25–11, 25–8, 25–16, the Lions' energy and defense kept them competitive throughout extended rallies.
Fayetteville State 3, Lincoln 0 – Match Recap
On Saturday, Lincoln battled the defending CIAA champion Fayetteville State and put together one of its strongest passing efforts of the season, falling 25–16, 25–21, 25–5. Fru led the offense again with 12 assists, while Carter tallied six kills on 20 attempts. Morris anchored the defense with 13 digs, and Lydgate added two kills and a block.
The Lions (0–14, 0–5 CIAA) leave Fayetteville having gained valuable experience against two of the conference's toughest programs and will look to carry that momentum back home.
