MILLERSVILLE, PA. – September 17, 2025 – The Lincoln University women's volleyball team hit the road Wednesday night, taking on Millersville inside Pucillo Gymnasium. The Lions battled in the opening set but ultimately dropped the match 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-7).

Sophomore Elise Carter (Smyrna, DE/Smyrna HS) continued to shine, leading the Lions with 10 kills while adding a pair of digs. Freshman setter Ashley Fru (Brandywine, MD) put together another all-around effort with 5 kills, 13 assists, 5 digs, and a service ace. At the net, Audreynette Lydgate (Bowie, MD/Charles Herbert Flowers HS) added 3 kills and 2 block assists, while Kaniece Wright (Bowie, MD) anchored the defense with a team-high 12 digs.

Lincoln traded points with Millersville early in the first set, playing to seven ties before the Marauders pulled away late. Though the Lions couldn't keep pace in the final two frames, the opening stretch showed encouraging signs of growth and resilience against a tough opponent.

What's Next
The Lions (0-7) return home on Thursday, September 25, when they host Bluefield State in their CIAA opener. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Oxford High School.
