Lions Fall in Doubleheader against Bloomsburg

Lincoln University PA, - March 17, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) softball team battled this weekend, but ultimately lost both games of their doubleheader against Bloomsburg with a final score of 1-2 in game one, and 0-7 in game two.
 
Game 1
In the first game, the pitching matchup was a tight knit. Chloe Foster (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) pitched a complete game, allowing two runs, on six hits. She also struck out three batters as well. Ashley Stringer (Coatesville, PA/Coatesville High School) went 2-3 on the day, scoring the teams only run of the game. Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark) and Oaklyn Johnson (Baltimore, MD) went 1-3 on the day. Kevyn Jones (Baltimore, Md./Paul Laurence Dunbar) went 1-2, including a drawn walk as well too.
 
Game 2
In the second game, the Lions gave up five runs in the first inning, but the defense minimized Bloomsburg throughout the rest of the game. Chloe Foster (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) pitched five innings, allowing one run, on three hits. She also had three walks and three strikeouts. Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark) also pitched two innings, allowing no runs, on three hits. She also had three strikeouts. The Lions' offense was led by Kevyn Jones (Baltimore, Md./Paul Laurence Dunbar), Aliya Rose (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Preperatory) and Tia Brown (Newark, N.Y./Newark), all going 1-3 respectively.
 
The Lions will look to bounce back on Thursday, March 20, when the team travels to Raleigh, NC for the CIAA Round Up
