LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – August 10, 2026 – Lincoln University (PA) Athletics announces that Head Women's Softball Coach Zadaisha Waddell will be leaving the program following four successful seasons with the Lions.
During her four seasons at Lincoln, Waddell helped lead the softball program through some of its strongest seasons in recent history. Her leadership and dedication to the program helped the Lions establish a competitive presence within the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
Waddell was named the 2024 CIAA Coach of the Year after leading the Lions to a major turnaround. After finishing the 2023 season with a 5-11 conference record, Lincoln improved to a 12-5 conference record in 2024, earning a spot in the CIAA Tournament Final Four. In 2025, the Lions went 5-0 in the CIAA Roundup, scoring 37 runs throughout the course of the tournament.
Throughout her four seasons, Waddell led the Lions to three postseason appearances, including two Final Four appearances in the CIAA Tournament. The program also recorded two 17-win seasons, marking some of the most successful seasons for Lincoln softball in recent years.
Waddell's time at Lincoln was highlighted by the growth of the program, postseason success and the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. Her contributions helped continue to build a strong foundation for the future of Lincoln University softball.
Waddell leaves Lincoln with a lasting impact on the softball program, highlighted by a CIAA Coach of the Year honor, three postseason appearances, two Final Four finishes and two 17-win seasons.
