Bloomfield, NJ – January 9, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team faced a tough challenge on the road, falling 83-69 to Bloomfield College in a non-conference match up. Despite a valiant effort and strong individual performances, the Lions were unable to contain Bloomfield's hot shooting in the second half.
Senior Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) led Lincoln with a double-double, scoring 15 points and pulling down 10 rebounds while adding a block and a steal. Senior Manny Toha (Newark, N.J./Marist) also contributed 15 points, including three three-pointers, and grabbed 6 rebounds. Senior Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) added 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, keeping the Lions competitive throughout the game.
After a close first half that saw Bloomfield lead 37-30, Lincoln fought to stay within striking distance but struggled to match Bloomfield's offensive efficiency. The Lions shot 34.9% from the field and 17.9% from beyond the arc, while Bloomfield converted at a 46.8% clip from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers.
The loss drops Lincoln to 10-6 overall as they prepare to return to CIAA play. The Lions' next game will be against Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC, on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 7:30 p.m..
