Philladelphia, PA – January 7, 2025 – The Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team extended their winning streak to six games with a dramatic 58-57 victory over Fayetteville State University at Manuel Rivero Hall. With this win, the Lions improve to 10-5 overall and remain perfect in CIAA play at 5-0.
Senior Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic) delivered a clutch performance, scoring 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, while adding 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks. Senior Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) also played a key role, contributing 16 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, including a crucial defensive play in the final seconds to seal the victory. Senior Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) added 8 points and 5 rebounds, providing steady inside presence.
After trailing 31-25 at halftime, the Lions stormed back in the second half, outscoring Fayetteville State 33-26. Lincoln's defense was pivotal down the stretch, forcing critical turnovers and holding the Broncos to just 33.3% shooting from the free-throw line. The Lions' bench also provided valuable support, contributing 12 points and maintaining pressure on both ends of the floor.
With the win, Lincoln secures their sixth straight victory and maintains their unblemished conference record. The Lions will now prepare for their next game against Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 7 p.m..
