Lincoln University, PA – December 5, 2024 – On an unforgettable Senior Night, the Lincoln University (PA) men's basketball team dominated Cheyney University of Pennsylvania 94-40 in their home opener at Manuel Rivero Hall. The Lions celebrated nine seniors during a special pregame ceremony, setting the stage for a stellar team performance in front of a crowd of 1,352.
The Lions took control early, building a 41-19 lead by halftime and finishing with a 67.9% second-half shooting display. Senior Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J./University) led the way with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, while fellow senior Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds. Senior Janaie Coates-Sinues (Newark, N.J./University) added 14 points and 7 rebounds, showcasing the depth of Lincoln's veteran leadership.
The Lions' defense was relentless, forcing 26 turnovers and turning them into 32 points. Lincoln also owned the boards, outrebounding Cheyney 54-31, and displayed their depth with 41 bench points.
