The
Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) announced the 2022-23 recipients of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards with Lincoln University having a total of 28 student-athletes to receive this award.
The Academic Achievement Awards, in its 16
th year, is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. In total, there were a record breaking 19,646 student-athletes from 196 institutions recognized for the 2022-23 Academic Achievement Awards. This number surpasses last year's numbers by more than 3,000 additional student-athletes receiving the honor.
"Our student-athletes continue to raise the bar and cement their Lincoln legacies in a phenomenal manner. Their commitment to academic excellence continues to make us proud," said Athletics Director, Harry Stinson, III. Lincoln University ranked third amongst CIAA institutions in student-athletes receiving this honor.
To qualify for this honor, the institution's AD must be a current dues-paying member of the Division 2 Athletics Directors Association and a student-athlete must have:
- a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work
- have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year
For the 2022-23 season, Lincoln Baseball and Women's Basketball led the department with both teams having a total of five recipients. Softball followed with four student-athletes. Football, Volleyball and Women's Soccer each saw three players represent their teams, while Men's Basketball & Men's Track and Field each had a pair of recipients. Women's Track and Field also had a student-athlete to represent them.
