LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania women's basketball and men's track & field programs were recognized by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as having one of the best student-athletes in each of the past three weeks including
Glenn Butler, Jr. (Greenburgh, N.Y./White Plains),
Jaleesa Lanier (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic), and
D'Ayzha Atkinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti).

Butler, a senior track & field jumps specialist from Greenburgh, New York, was named Field Athlete of the Week on January 18. The SUNY-Delhi transfer won the high jump event with a personal-record of 2.14m and came in second place during the long jump with a distance of 7.34m at the HBCU Showcase in New York City.

Lanier, a sophomore women's basketball guard from Easton, Pennsylvania, claimed Player of the Week honors on January 24 after her performance in a pair of victories over Shaw and Virginia Union. The Bethlehem Catholic alumna set new career-highs in points (18), three-pointers (6), and field goals (6) while shooting 54.5% (12-of-22) from the floor and 61.5% (8-for-13) from deep over that weekend. She averaged 16 points, 4.0 threes, 3.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals while committing just a single turnover.

Atkinson, a freshman women's basketball forward from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, secured the Rookie of the Week accolade on January 31 as she played a crucial role in wins over Virginia State and Washington Adventist. The Neumann-Goretti alumna averaged 6.3 points and 3.3 boards, shining particularly bright against VSU with 11 points plus four rebounds despite playing only 18 minutes. She also put together six points and a trio of boards in a non-conference road contest at WAU when she garnered just 12 minutes of floor time.

Butler and the track & field programs will compete in the CIAA Indoor Championships this coming Sunday and Monday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina while Lanier and Atkinson's women's basketball team will host Virginia Union in the Play 4 Kay event on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
