Â
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men and women's track programs only took eight student-athletes to the meet that the University of South Carolina was hosting on Friday with four of those making the top-eight in their respective events.
Â
Glenn Butler, Jr. (Greenburgh, N.Y./White Plains) keeps on racking up the individual victories, placing first in the long jump with a distance of 7.58m, the only LU participant to finish higher than sixth.
Â
Aisha Carrington (Baltimore, Md./Franklin) and
Kamani Johns (Chester, Pa./Chester) were the next-best placers on the day as each lady claimed sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.76) and 400m (57.06, PR), respectively.
Â
Jayden Rodriguez (Hillside, N.J./North Star Academy) crossed the finish line during the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.25, good enough for seventh place and a new personal-record.
Â
The 400m duo of
Jazlynn Church (Wilmington, Del./The Charter School) (59.26) and
Ra'ar Corinaldi (Philadelphia, Pa./Hill Freedman Academy) (50.25) may have slotted in the teens but showed marked improvement as they each set new benchmarks in the event.
Â
The women's 4x400m relay team also ran well with a huge PR and a NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:52.99.
The Lions will make their way back to familiar territory one last time during the indoor portion of the Spring 2023 season, taking part in its third meet inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Fast Track Last Chance on Friday.
