Lions Host Bears On Youth Day

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania men's basketball program will welcome both Shaw University and families with children on Saturday as they look to get back on the winning track.

Lincoln (PA) Overview:
 
Winning the turnover battle is one of the biggest keys to success in any sport and the Lions have thrived on winning the turnover margin sporting a +5.3 that ranks eighth in the NCAA by causing 18.67 mistakes on average, sixth nationally.
 
Korey Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaSalle Academy) has been a one-man show for the Orange and Blue, going for 16.3 points, 2.17 threes, and 1.67 steals per game to rank among the CIAA's five best in each category.
 
Peter Sorber (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic), Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's), and Ethan Garita (Trenton, N.J./Princeton Day School) all make appearances on the league leaderboard as well with 16 blocks, 24 steals, and 2.19 offensive rebounds a contest, respectively.
 
Scouting the Shaw Bears:
 
SU has been adept at getting to the free throw line and forcing turnovers, landing in the top-30 in free throw attempts (23.1) and turnovers forced (16.72) per game.
 
DJ Thomas has been the stereotypical floor general point guard with a pension for dishing out dimes and swiping steals. He is 18th in Division II with 2.27 steals per game, second in the conference at 3.8 assists a contest, and a 1.50 assist-to-turnover ratio that ranks third in the CIAA on top of averaging a team-high 14.5 points.
 
Jeremiah Pope is the three-point assassin for the Bears by draining two long balls a matchup while Caleb Simmons free throw maker with 53 coming into the weekend.
