Freshman Jasmine Solis will spend a lot of time at second base with freshman transfer MacKienzee Rasheed and Davis possibly playing up the middle as well. Rasheed comes from Albany State, where she started games at third base, first base, catcher and designated player, while hitting .333.
Behind the plate more freshmen Jarae Turner and Kevyn Jones will split innings for the Lions.
The rest of the infield could see freshmen Jaelynn Barrios and Cailyn Dove man the corners. Jones and Townsend could see some time at third base, while Brown and Rasheed could see some time at first base.
There is a plethora of options for the corner outfielders as Rasheed, freshman Simone Hanner and freshman Lakya’h Young will compete in right field, and Townsend, Liskey, sophomore Jasmin Lewis, and freshman Jazzmin Haman will compete in left field. Lewis is the lone other player on the roster with collegiate at-bats, hitting .333 in the abbreviated 2020 season.
