Men's Cross Country

MXC wins Bowie State Classic

BOWIE, MD – Three Lincoln University men's cross country runners placed in the top five as the Lions claimed the 2022 Bowie State Classic Tuesday at Jericho Park.

Freshman Irving Marable finished second on the less than 7K course with the time of 24:06.80. Marable led for most of the first mile and a half before ceding the lead and placing second. For most of the race, freshman Nathaniel Baker (Philadelphia, Pa./Beeber) was Marable's wingman and completed the course in 24:51.70 to finish third overall.

Freshman Michael Amaker (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder) was the third Lincoln runner to cross the mat, placing fifth in 25:19.50. Sophomore Brandon Frierson (Philadelphia, Pa./Olney Charter) placed eighth in 25:55.60 and sophomore Lamar Clanton (Wyncote, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) sealed the victory with a 15th place finish with the time of 28:59.70.

It's a quick turnaround time for the Lions as they compete in the Jack St. Clair Invitational Saturday in Philadelphia's Belmont Plateau.
