Box Score The baseball team went to the big city to battle the Rams of Philadelphia University in a double header. The Rams got off to a great start putting up five runs on 3 hits as the starting pitcher for the Lions freshmen Orlando Roberson (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) had trouble from the start with control. He hit three batters and walked two others. The Lions would never recover from the rocky start and lost the game 1-14. The bright spot for the team was junior DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) who tripled in the fourth inning and brought in freshmen Joshua Roberson (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) for the teams only run of the game.
The second game was much more competitive. The Lions opened with a homer in the first inning by freshmen Dumarius Gooch (Milton, DE/Cape Henlopen HS). The team put up five more runs in the top of the fifth with singles by Avery Lomax (Bowie, MD/Eleanor Roosevelt HS), Marquis Coleman (Middle River, MD/Baltimore Polytech HS), Julian Bradshaw (Brooklyn, NY/Brooklyn Generation HS), Orlando Roberson (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley HS) and DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS). The Rams came back in the bottom of the same inning and took back the lead for good with eight runs. They Rams won with a final score of 6-12. Freshmen Marcos Castillo (Brooklyn, NY/HS of Telecommunications) was the pitcher for the Lions.
The next day the Lions faced-off against Philadelphia University again and for the first time at home and came away with a victory. They won 5-2 with hits by Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy), Dumarious Gooch and Edwin Rivera (Bronx, NY/Gompers HS). The winning pitcher for the Lions was DeVante Parker (Bear, DE/Appoquinimink HS) while sophomore Crae Watkins (Lorain, OH/Brookside HS) earned the save.
The final game of the home and home series was won by the Rams as they put up 10 runs on eight hits. The Lions made an effort to split the four game series but came up with just two runs on hits by Marcus Sistrun (Philadelphia, PA/Eastern College) and Christian Gil (Staten Island, NY/LaSalle Academy). The Lions pitcher on record was Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy).
