LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - Lincoln will play its third out of four straight road games to start the season on Friday as the Lions play the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College. Lincoln suffered two losses at the Joe Retton Classic to Fairmont State (98-73) and to West Virginia Wesleyan in overtime (83-76). Chestnut Hill (1-1) shot 34.7% (25-of-72) from the field and went 53.3% (16-of-30) from the charity stripe in a 83-73 loss to Franklin Pierce in their last game at home.

Quaman Burton (Richmond, VA/John Marshall HS). Burton netted a career-high 29 points on 9-of-19 shots from the field. He made a career-best five three pointers and made all six of his free throws. Lincoln trailed 37-27 at the half but came back in the second half outscoring the Bobcats 42-32 as the game went into overtime. The Lions took their first lead of the game with 1:41 left in the second half but a late three pointer by the Bobcats forced overtime.

ABOUT CHESTNUT HILLChestnut Hill leads the CACC in blocks per game (5.5) and in three point percentage (40.0). Luke Dickson and Demetrius Isaac are both averaging over 20 points per game. Dickson leads the CACC in points per game (22.5) and in three pointers made (10-19). He scored 24 points in the previous game versus Franklin Pierce and had 21 points against the District of Columbia in the season opener. Isaac ranks third in assists (13) and fourth in both points per game (20.5) and in free throws made (17-20) amongst the CACC. The Griffins won their season opener 93-86 versus the District of Columbia but loss to Franklin Pierce 83-73 in the second game.
ALL-TIME SERIESLincoln trails the all-time series on the hardwood against Chestnut Hill by a 1-2 margin. The series began in the 2003-04 season with the Lions losing both meetings. The last time Lincoln faced Chestnut Hill (11/18/14) the Lions were victorious beating the Griffins, 68-66 at home.
Joshua Davis (Saginaw, MI/Louisburg Junior College) led the Lions bench with nine points in their first victory of the season. The Griffins led (63-60) with 4-minutes left until Davis ignited the Lions with a slam-dunk sparking a run of their own. Davis also scored Lincoln's next basket after missed free-throws by the Griffins, giving LU a 64-63 lead. LU downed a pair of free-throws and Lincoln picked up their first win of the season, 68-66 over Chestnut Hill.

LINCOLN RANKING AMONGST THE CIAAAfter their first two games of the season the Lions are ranked second in field goal percentage (47.0) and steals per game (8.0) but third in three point percentage (42.3) and rebounding margin (+1.5) in the CIAA.

TRIO OF LIONS SHOOTING PERFECT FROM THE FREE THROW LINEQuaman Burton (Richmond, VA/John Marshall HS),
Charles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston), and
Deonte Moore (Orlando, FL/Virginia Union University) are all posting 100% shooting percentages from the free throw line after two games. Burton leads the pack with six made, Cooley made four, and Moore knocked down a pair. The Lions as a team converted in 20-of-43 (70%) total attempts from the charity stripe.

BURTON EXPLODES FOR CAREER-HIGH IN POINTS VERSUS BOBCATSQuaman Burton (Richmond, VA/John Marshall HS) netted a career-high 29 points on 9-of-19 shots from the field. His previous career-best was 18 points twice in 2014-15 last against Livingstone (1./5/15). Burton made a career-best five three pointers and made all six of his free throws. He scored 15 first half points making all three of his attempts from long range and added on four made free throws. In the extra session he scored five points.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE IN THE MAKING Vernon Young (Chicago, IL/University of St. Mary) led the Lions in rebounding in their previous game with 12 boards and scored a season-best 15 points for his first double-double in the orange and blue. Young had six offensive rebounds with six defensive rebounds while hitting 6-of-11 shots from the field against West Virginia Wesleyan.

SENEY IS A THREAT FROM LONG RANGEMalachi Seney (Philadephia, PA/Harfprd Community College) is shooting 66.7% from three point range ranking fifth amongst the CIAA. Seney went 1-for-1 against Fairmont State and then went 1-for-2 against West Virginia Wesleyan. He finished with a season-best ten points against the Bobcats helping the Lions battle back in the second half.

COOLEY SERVES AS FLOOR GENERAL FOR LIONSCharles Cooley (Brentwood, MD/University of Charleston) started in the first two games for the Lions at the lead guard spot. He led the team in rebounding and assists on the road. Cooley played 39 minutes and led the Lions with seven assists versus West Virginia Wesleyan. In the season opener he grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in 28 minutes played against Fairmont State.
