Box Score LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Infielder Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) paced the Lions at the plate with a hit and even scored a run for Lincoln in a 4-1 loss to Virginia State University on Thursday, April 10^th.
 
Two hits in the bottom of the first inning by the Lions led to one run scored by Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS). Jones singled to third base to begin the inning and then advanced to second base after designated hitter William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) drew a walk.
 
Catcher Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) followed with a single to third base to load the bases full of Lions for outfielder Terence Berry, Jr. (Dover, NJ/Dover HS) Berry hit a sacrifice RBI fly ball to right field giving Lincoln the early 1-0 advantage.
 
Virginia State took the lead in the fourth inning with three runs and then sealed the victory with a run in the seventh inning to defeat the Lions 4-1.
 
Lincoln's pitcher Demetrius Robinson (Philadelphia, Pa./Murrell Dobbins HS) struck out two batters, but surrendered eight hits and three earned runs from the mound.
 
The Lions had four hits behind the bats of Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS), Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy), Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS), and Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy). Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy), Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS), and Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) all stole a base while William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) drew the only walk.
 
The Lions fall to 2-26 and 2-14 CIAA record. Lincoln will host Winston-Salem State in a four game series this weekend beginning at 1pm on Saturday, April 12th.
