Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO, NC – Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) led the Lions with two hits in a 8-3 loss to Chowan in game two of a double header on Monday, March 31
st. Lincoln also loss game one to the Hawks 13-3. 
The Lions fell behind after the Hawks scored six early runs in the first inning. Lincoln found their groove heading into the third inning. 
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) connected on a 2-RBI single through the left side in the third inning against the Hawks to get the Lions offense rolling. 
Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy) and 
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) scored runs for Lincoln and cut into the Chowan advantage, 6-2. 
Chowan added one three runs in the third inning and three more runs in the fifth inning to pull ahead 12-2. 
In the sixth inning with two runners on base, 
Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) reached on a fielder's choice that brought in 
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy). The Lions had two hits, one run, and forced one error by the Chowan defense in the sixth inning for their third run of the contest. 
The Hawks won 12-3 over the Lions in the early game of the double header. Chowan had 12 hits while Lincoln had five led by 
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy)'s two hits. 
Ronald Lashley (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker Academy), 
Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS), and 
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) each had a hit. 
William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) had four strikeouts for the Lions on the mound in four innings. Then 
Brendan Sherman-Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore Polytechnic Institute) pitched for two innings throwing two strikeouts. 
In the second game of the double header, Lincoln jumped out to a great start with three hits in the second inning for a 2-0 lead. 
Gabriel Santiago (Bronx, NY/Mount Saint Michael Academy) singled through the right side to ignite the Lions. Brenden Sherman-Johnson followed with an RBI scoring 
Edwin Rivera (Bronx, N.Y./Gompers HS). 
Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy) drew a walk as the next batter and then advanced to second base on a single by 
Brandon Bolden (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro HS). 
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) blasted a shot down the right field line for an RBI scoring Legins for the Lions second run of the game. Lincoln forced a Chowan error in that inning and had two runs. 
The Lions offense struggled for the next couple of innings until four hits led to a third run against the Hawks in the fifth inning. 
Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) led off with a bunt then advanced to third base on an error by the Hawks. Smith scored from third on an RBI single by 
Alejandro Jones (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS). The Lions trailed 8-3 after Jones' RBI. 
William Hodges (Bronx, NY/Cardinal Spellman HS) followed with a single to left field to put two runners on for Lincoln. Chowan saved a last attempt for extra runs by Lincoln catching Jones out at home to end the inning. 
Lincoln failed to add any more runs and loss 8-3 to Chowan. 
Lincoln had 10 hits compared to six by the Hawks, but three runs in the second inning and four runs in the third inning led to their defeat.

Lincoln falls to 1-18 overall and 1-8 in CIAA play.
