Felician too much for Lincoln

LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Lincoln University baseball team concluded its sixth straight game on the road as the Lions dropped a 21-4 decision to Felician College on Tuesday night at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
 
The Golden Falcons (6-12) opened the scoring with five runs in the third and five in the fifth to break the game open at, 10-0. Felician added three more runs in the sixth and four in the seventh for a 17-0 advantage.
 
Lincoln (1-5) got onto the scoreboard with a four-run eighth inning.
 
Martin Evans (Willingboro, N.J./Church Farm HS) walked to begin the frame and advanced to second when Richard Holguin (Bronx, N.Y./Fannie Lou Hamer HS) drew a base on balls. Evans took third on a fielder's choice. Stephen Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) reached on a throwing error, which allowed Holguin to take second and Evans to score. With no outs, Matthew Anderson (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) tripled to the wall in left to plate Holguin and Smith. With one down, Anderson scored on a wild pitch. Christian Valdez (Hyattsville, Md./Bladensburg HS) walked, but David Christian (Inglewood, Calif./Alta Loma HS) bounced into a double play to end the inning.
 
The Golden Falcons put the game away with four runs in the bottom of the frame.
 
Carl Randall (Fort Washington, Md./Gwynn Park HS) took the loss in pitching three innings. He surrendered five runs on four hits with six walks and a strikeout. Alexander Donald (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS), Devin Legins (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mill Academy), Eric Nelson (Baltimore, Md./City College) and Smith worked in relief.
 
Jack Fowler earned the win and worked three innings of one-hit ball. He walked one and fanned six. Chet Godrey, Steven Harrison, T.J. Gardner and D.J. Stinsman pitched in relief.
 
The Lions open the home portion of their schedule with a 1 p.m., non-conference doubleheader against Virginia University of Lynchburg on Sunday, March 18 at Oxford Area High School.
