Kenny Sharpe (Chester, Pa./Elite Academy) and
Justin Jackson (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor HS) had career nights, but the Lincoln University men's basketball team concluded the 2011 portion of its schedule Friday night with an 89-70 loss at Central State.
Sharpe and Jackson each had 20 points as the Lions (5-6), trailed at the break, 37-35. Sharp was 11-of-15 from the foul line and Jackson added his touch from the field by going 6-of-14.
Denzel Mooney (Baltimore, Md./Western School of Technology) was held to a season-low 10 points as Lincoln was 22-of-61 from the floor for 36 percent.
Greg Rice led the Marauders with 21 points on 7-of-13 from the field. Gerald Campbell added 15 points, while Phillip Gates and Demarkus Isom-Jones each poured in 11 points. LeDonte Body chipped in with 10 points as Central State shot 57 percent (31-of-54) from the field.
Lincoln returns to action 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 5 in Raleigh, N.C., as the Lions open CIAA play against Saint Augustine's College.
