Box Score

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — With a brutal upcoming schedule featuring a slew of doubleheaders, Lincoln University used Wednesday's single game against No. 10 West Chester as an opportunity to rest several starters and ato provide experience for the reserves against top-notch competition.

Given the opportunity, Absalom Lopez (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln) (Jersey City, N.J./Lincoln) proved his worth while manning first base, going 2-for-3 in LU's 22-2 loss to the Golden Rams.

Alexander Donald (Los Angeles, Calif./Dorsey HS) (Los Angeles Calif./Dorsey) took the loss, allowing 19 runs, 11 earned, in four innings.

WC's Brandon Wolfe had two doubles in a 3-for-3 effort with six runs batted in and two runs scored. He also pitched a scoreless fourth inning while striking out the side.

Both of Lincoln's runs came in the sixth, a rally started by Jamie Taylor (Nottingham, PA/Oxford Area) (Nottingham, PA/Oxford) when he reached on an error by the shortstop and promptly stole second. Phil Tomsic (Bangor, Mich./Bangor), who starred against Felician College Sunday, singled, advancing Taylor to third. Freshman catcher Alejandro Rosario (Doradas, Puerto Rico/) followed with another single, scoring Taylor. Omar Cham (Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park) (Highland Park, N.J./Highland Park) grounded out to third, scoring Tomsic.

Lincoln was scheduled to play Chowan University Thursday but soggy field conditions forced the postponement of the game. LU (1-14) hosts Shaw at 1 p.m. on Saturday in a doubleheader.
