Lincoln falls to Saint Augustine's

CARY, N.C. (March 8, 2009) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball team concluded its North Carolina trip by losing a pair of games to Saint Augustine's College, 10-1 and 25-2 Sunday afternoon at the USA Baseball Training Complex. (GAME 1 BOXSCORE) (GAME 2 BOXSCORE) 


In the opening game, Joe Kruemmer (Middletown, DE, Hodgson Vo-Tech) turned a pair of walks into the Lions only run. Alexander Donald (Los Angeles, CA, Dorsey) drove in Kruemmer in the fifth inning with a ground out. Melvin Robinson (Bear, DE, William Penn)led Lincoln with seven putouts.

 

In the second game, Robinson and Percy Bullock (Pittsburgh, PA, Susquehanna) scored for Lincoln in the third inning. Bullock scored when Kruemmer was safe on an error and Robinson crossed the plate on a passed ball. Robinson, who started the second game, struck out four batters over 2.1 innings.

 

Lincoln and Saint Augustine's will play again on Thursday Mach 26 in Pennsylvania. The Lions return to action Friday afternoon when they travel to Wilmington University for a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m.
