Wilmington University too much for Lincoln during double dip

NEW CASTLE, Del. (March 13, 2009) – The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Wilmington University, 20-1 and 23-1 Friday afternoon at Wilson Field. (GAME 1 BOXSCORE) (GAME 2 BOXSCORE)

 

Kyle Brooks (Baltimore, MD, Seton Hill) and Omar Ongay (Wilmington, DE, Glasgow)scored runs for Lincoln, respectively in each game. In the opening game, Melvin Robinson (Bear, DE/William Penn), Omar Cham (Highland Park, NJ, Highland Park) and Omar Glinton (Nassau, Bahamas, St. Augustine's) all recorded hits for the Lions. After Brooks led off the top of the sixth inning with a single, he stole second base and advanced to third on a passed ball. Brooks scored when a Lincoln batter struck out and the Wilmington catcher dropped the ball.

 

The Lions also had three hits in the second game from Ongay, Aaron Thomas (Oxford, PA, Oxford Area) and Robert Webster (Washington, DC, Bishop McNamara), who doubled. Thomas' hit in the fifth inning produced a RBI. Thomas pitched a scoreless sixth inning.

 

Lincoln plays its home opener Saturday afternoon when it hosts Saint Paul's College in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
